Computer-Aided Slope Stability Analysis of a Landslide—A Case Study of Jhika Gali Landslide in Pakistan

The present research study has been undertaken to carry out slope stability evaluation of the Jhika Gali landslide in Pakistan using GeoStudio. For this purpose, site geometry existing adjacent slided one was measured and samples were collected from site. in-situ moisture content 14% dry unit weight 18.63 kN/m3. Unconfined compression tests unconsolidated-undrained (UU) triaxial performed on reconstituted at weight, standard Proctor modified maximum weights. test results show that shear strength deformation parameters, i.e., undrained strength, angle internal friction modulus decreased 200 kPa 90 kPa, 23° 12° 51 MPa 32 MPa, respectively, with an increase percentage saturation 35% 95% a specific weight. also modeled GeoStudio for limit equilibrium analysis, analysis values as determined laboratory varying degrees saturation. showed factor safety reduces 1.854 0.866 material increases 95%. suggest that, above 85%, soil loses its significantly gains bulk so stage starts sliding.
